Blake
I grew up on a farm in Western Kansas and have always loved dogs. After careers as a professional singer, voice teacher, and children’s and youth pastor, I decided it was time to train dogs and their humans. The catalyst for me to do this was when I was volunteering at the PAWS Animal Shelter in Pueblo, Colorado and saw the difference I could make in the life of a dog. Simply put, I found that my mission is to help people and their dogs. I did my certification training through Animal Behavior College, am a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers and serve as a Canine Good Citizen evaluator through the AKC. I am also a licensed educator for Family Paws, specializing in helping families train their dogs for new human arrivals through pre-school. Locally, I am the current director of Human Animal Bond and volunteer at the Leavenworth County Humane Society by training inmates at Lansing Correctional Facility. My Service Dog Certification was issued through Animal Behavior College. Besides working with the dogs in the community, I also am involved in the Leavenworth First United Methodist Church as a pianist. My fur babies are rescue dogs Claire (Heeler/Aussie mix, age 11), Blake (Herding mix, age 10), and Sully (Chihuahua mix, age 2). I lost my yellow lab, Angel and Buddy, black lab mix (see In Memory).
